Good golfing
weather today, not much wind, quite pleasant conditions all of which resulted in
some good scores being returned. In addition it was good to see so many members
playing, the best turnout on a Thursday for some time. John Ross returned a good
net 68 in today's medal to take first prize. Then there were 3 members who
returned net 69's and on a card play off the order was, David Hoggard, Douglas
Pringle and Gordon White.
Monday 10th August 2009.

morning but the Captain barked his orders and said 'We will play' and play we

played.

After a
weekend of rain and some heavy overnight rain the Mallards were fortunate to be
playing in warm sunshine, even if the course was a bit soggy. 32 members took
part in today's medal 'eclectic' and with the course being wet there was no run
on the ball and scoring was rather high. SSS for the day was 74, but Roger Rees
once again returned a good score taking 1st place with a net 70. Graham Orange
with a net 75 was runner up. Jim Samuel and Joe Hardon were 3rd & 4th.
Today's net scores were used as the second round of the Ralph Ramsden Trophy,

Milne who was 4th missed out, but alas he did go home with the 2's pot, he being
the only one t return a two.

A pleasant
morning for golf as the Mallards enjoyed a Team Texas Scramble. The winners were
the team of Rob Woodland, Ian Melrose and David Blackett, runners up were Donald
Edgar, Joe Hardon and Tom Gordon. The course was played with a slight variation
in the 1st hole and the Hadrian's course was used as a means to avoiding the

Thursday 24th September 2009
The
penultimate medal competition and final medal 'eclectic was played today.
Conditions were cool with a stiff breeze and this was reflected in the scores.
With just 20 members taking part, rather a poor turn out, Gordon Milne, again
took top spot on a CPO from Ian Castle, both with net 72's. Alan Nixon was 3rd.
Joe Hardon & John Ross shared the 2's pot.
With it being the last of the 'Eclectic' rounds, Joe Hardon ran out the
